Sweet looking tank Rad! Does the pic of your meteor shower represent its color in person well? I ask because I have a 40g breeder using similar lighting setup with my meteor shower placed low-mid in tank and haven't been too impressed with its color. I do not have same lighting schedule as you however.
I have been dealing with a bubble algae outbreak, no other nuisance algae at all. The yellow tang eats some of it but it is multiplying faster than the tang can eat it. I was thinking of getting a wire brush and scraping it off or trading my male solar wrasse in for a foxface. I tried emerald crabs but my mystery wrasse ate them within days. It is unsightly, anyone have any other solutions/advice for me?
I don't think a wire brush will be a good idea as it will release spores and spread them more. I also have them, tried emeralds twice with no luck so have to manually remove them every so often.
I added a Yellow Sea Blade gorgonian to the reef today. It's in some pretty high flow right near the vortech and it loves it, nice polyp extension shortly after acclimation.
Got this maricultured Gorgonian a few weeks ago, it has been encrusting and growing pretty well so far. The sea blade above it is also growing new branches. They both love flow, they are the closest corals to the MP40. There is also a new ORA blue bottlebrush acro with green polyps to the bottom right.
I added a Gold Spotted Rabbitfish to combat the bubble algae. Really peaceful fish, not eating any corals so far, but definitely eating lots of bubble algae. I'm planning a large FOWLR that he will eventually be in once he outgrows this tank as this variety of rabbitfish gets pretty big.
I haven't updated anything lately so I figured I'd take a few shots tonight and share some new pics. I have added an MP10W as far as new equipment goes. No new fish since I am beyond maxed out with that, although the Gold Spotted Rabbitfish has demolished the plague of bubble algae I had going on, there is only a few stragglers left. It was pretty funny watching him poop clear bubble shells out all the time. For corals I added a couple nice frags that I got from Miguel, the Red Planet and a nice yellow mille with red coralites.
