Randys Two Part Question??

I think I'm going to start using Randys' two part, but I have a question before I do. So do I stop dripping kalk all together?, or do some of you dose two part and still drip kalk sometimes? And if so when?, and why?

You can stilol drip kalk as well since some of it's biggest benefits such as precipitating phosphates out of solution do not occur with 2 parts. Also if you are dripping kalk it will help with stability or consistency in parameters rather than dumping in a bunch of additives once or twice a day. That being said I don't use kalk and only baking soda, dowflake, and magflake that is until I get a calcium reactor up and running again.

I think Randy does recommend stopping the use alk/Ca additives when doing the switch. Before you switch make sure your alk/Ca levels are good to start with with whatever additive your using. It just makes it easier to keep the both levels inline and balanced.
If anything, you could turn your drip rate way down when starting it.

IME, I tried the 2 part, but kalk in a DIY reactor was the easiest. The prebalanced nature of kalk got me back to using it, and there is no calculating involved.
