I think i have them on the ropes now. Been scrubbing, siphoning, blowing off rocks, dosing silica, dosing microbacter, and they have slowed down a lot. Hope the trend continues!
Ordered a trap today, gotta catch PBT, put him in acclimation chamber and let the kole and mimic get settled. Then hopefully they can survive when i let PBT out.
Got RRC Angry Birds, ASD rainbow millie, hawkins echinata, and vivids confetti at the swap. All look great, confetti was a pretty dodgy frag but might pull through. The Angry Birds is amazing, cant wait to make it a colony!

Plenty of room for sps to start moving in.
Ordered some balling materials to take over when just dosing soda ash doesn't do it any more.
Now to catch the powder blue and put him in acclimation box then put two new small tangs in tank to settle in: only problem… the fish trap i bought (sustainable aquatics brand) is not exactly robust. Hopefully i can make it work.
Hit up @Chris.Sturgis in Sturbridge, MA. He just received an Icecap medium trap yesterday that the club purchased. I have a large one in East Bridgewater if your ever up this way and want to give it a go.
Those are on my to do list as well. I have all the files just super busy but man those do look nice!

Wellp, dinos are pretty much gone, so thats great, SPS doing well, fish doing well.
The not awesome news is that two weeks ago I removed my PBT to the QT tank because he was being a jerk to everyone. So now the DT fish are loving life, but the PBT cant live in QT forever, so I went to put him back in the DT today (into an acclimation box) and sure enough, dude caught ich in the QT. nuts. and dunking him into my DT probably put ich in there too. It is a minor infection so I couldnt see it until he was in the bright DT acclimation box.
So thats a bummer, lots of money and time down the drain trying to keep the DT ich free and it probably has ich now. ah well.
So PBT back in QT now with therapeutic level of copper for 2 weeks. Then he can rejoin the DT and probably just re-get ich in there lol. ugh
I had a deal lined up for a bunch of SPS frags but it seems to be falling through, so now I need to find another source for high-end sticks on a budget.
Only other updates:
I turned the lights up a bit, I removed the filter socks and changed them with big cups filled with LR rubble, and I continue to switch between Kalkwasser and Soda Ash for ALK/CA depending on my CA level (when CA gets too high I switch to Soda Ash for a while while it comes down).
I bought a bunch of Tropic Marin 3 part, and will switch to that once I run out of Soda Ash and once the tank has more coral and higher demand for ALK/CA/MAG.
The Colorado Sunburst Anemone is getting big and loving life, the clowns are playing game of thrones, and life is good for the most part. Just need more coral!
Lastly I got a CARX to tinker with, it came cracked, so we will see how good coralvue customer service is...

So far… coralvue has not done anything about the broken calcium reactor. So, i guess we’ll see.

On the hunt for collectors SPS. Had a lead but its gone cold…
Pbt almost out of qt, day 10 in copper complete. Probably move him over next weekend! Fingers crossed he stays mellow!

Awesome, I’ll reach out. Slow is all good. I have had many tanks where I filled them up but then wanted for space. This tank I plan to slowly add only the pieces I am really crazy about.
Also gang, i have these, which i plan to give to club members to seed tanks or improve biomes. Then ill put in more. Lmk if you want a few.

Small updates:
- did citric acid soak of returns, ptobes, and vortech wet ends
- activated the calcium reactor, more to come on that!
- i now have a ton of tropic marin 3 part if someone uses it…
- fish all doing great, sps coloring up and basing out. Keeping a list of frags I am still hunting down.
- working on adding wrasses to the tank next. Going slow, so far DT is pretty drama free, I do feed a lot.
@Kens Bees the clowns are all still doing awesome and loving their anemone which is now quite big. They have grown a lot!
