Reefbrite XHO and AI blade experiences

Looking for experiences with Reefbrite XHO / AI Blades for those who used them in an enclosed canopy for supplemental lighting.

Have MH for main lighting, so don’t need added par, looking for better color for acropora.

Look forward to your experiences /opinions.

Would ask about Quanta bars as well, but can’t use them in a canopy, as it will void the warranty.

For AI blade, you need a fan in the canopy. It is burning hot if you run it at close to full power. The XHO, it is ok, not that hot but nowhere near as powerful as AI blade at similar length. I guess physics is physics.

I’ve been using reefbrite mh/xho’s for 12 years. I love the lights. Any specific questions?

How much heat do they generate in the canopy ?
Have you replaced the XHO ‘s over time, and if so, what was the reason?
Are you running all blue, like in the pic ?
What type of corals are you growing in your tank ?

Appreciate the replies, thank you.

Minimal.

Never felt the need since I only use them for supplements for the 10k halides.

I use the xho’s for sunrise and sunset with the reefbrite dimmers via apex. The 10k’s do the heavy lifting. Par is low. I have them mounted about 13 inches above a 25 inch deep tank… last time I checked par it was around 60-75.
