Hello all I just got a 180g acrylic but need to remove a bunch of scratches so i'm looking for the do's, don'ts, #grit sand paper and products for buffing. The scratches are not deep but its a mess. All feed backs welcome thanks.
Novus makes a good scratch removal kit. Liquid with different grit in it and either cloths for small jobs or buffing wheels that you can put on drills. I used the small kit on a little tank i had and it worked great.
I use 3m kits to clean headlights they do a pretty good job getting it down to near perfect... but I watched jay at jays aquatics buff his large front display tank with toothopaste to get the final fine scratches. Lot of work but his tank looks flawless.
I have the set of Novus remover 1,2,3... I tried it on a scratch made on purpose that was 1/16" deep and wide. A little elbow grease, the Novus set, and gone!
Can I get the novus product locally? I wanna get something today if possible before i start plumbing. The tank is 5'x2'x30" so i hace my work cut out for me. I'll try and get some pics up tonight.
