RO/DI Safe for freshwater tanks too?

I was curious if it was safe to use RO/DI water for a freshwater tank also? Or just RO? What additives should I be dosing...I've seen stuff about Kent's RO Right? Thanks!!

Use either ro right or seachems equilibrium. Im sure there are others out there as well

yes, i would use an additive to replace trace minerals as mentioned. just RO/DI or even RO alone is too pure for fish.

I have been using ro/di water in my community fresh water tank for years now adding only regular aquarium salt with no ill effects, actually sometimes i wish my reef tanks were such a breeze to maintain. Oh well you only get out what you put in i suppose.

I was alway under the impression that you want alot of the minerals from fresh...way back in the day, I would just add start right water conditioner to tap and good to go.

Yep I always just youe straight tap. I typically fill a bucket a day or two ahead and let is sit, to let the chlorine evaporate out..
