RO water saving upgrade...

I have a 75 GPD RODI setup that I added one of the BRS water saver kits to add a second RO membrane as I had 65-70 psi that cuts down on waste water and still have 60-65 psi even after I added the second RO membrane and I'm contemplating adding a third RO membrane especially if it would cut down on waste water even more.

My water rates are absolutely crazy high normally and in the summer the go up to a summer rate that is 1.5 the normally already super high rates to "incentivise water conservation.". Ironically the water department then cries poor because everybody conserves water so then they have to raise the rates the next year since they lost all that revenue (town run water department).

I am assuming adding a third RO membrane would further reduce the waste water production and with the 60-65 psi I still have I would think I still have enough pressure and even if not I would consider getting a booster pump as in the long run the $150'ish I would spend to add a third RO membrane and booster pump would probably pay for itself in one year.

Good question, but I'm afraid I can't say I've ever had 3 membranes in series so curious to hear input on this. I came into possession of a unit that had been "Upgraded" but it never seemed right until discovering the wrong flow restrictor was left in.

Diminishing returns at that point imo. If you were to do it then it would require increased flushing increments to maintain efficiency.

I have it set to flush at startup and once and hour through the Hydros but no clue if I could set it up to flush more often.
