RODI Troubleshooting

Changed my RODI filters today and now, the water rushes right through the system, filling up a 5 gallon bucket quickly. Usually it takes more than an hour to do so.
The pressure gauge is also pulsing.
I have taken it apart and re assembled it already and to no avail.
Anyone got advice? I’m lost.

Here is how their 6-stage system works. What I have seen (not sure if this helps) is configurations where they run the waste water directly into the second membrane. BRS did a video on this and it can save quite a bit of wasted water.

Could be air trap in the system? Try purging it with the flush valve in reverse. Just a guess from your pressure pulsing, unless something weird in the membrane/pump causing periodic back pressure

Which filter was replaced? Post pics of the set up maybe someone can point out the issue.

Are you running a booster pump on your system? If so that could make the system pulse as the pump is trying to keep the pressure to set point.

Did you replace the RO membrane? If so did you correctly install the flow restrictor?

Flow restrictor?
I replaced the membrane.

Flow restrictor?
I replaced the membrane.
Check that you placed the membrane correctly and nothings obstructing it.
The flow restrict or is circled in the diagram I sent you below. Those are cheap to replace.

Just ordered one. Hopefully that works.

How do I make sure it’s placed right?

Yes exactly what was stated above. Many people do not realize you should replace the flow restrictor when changing the membrane. It stinks because BRS discontinued certain restrictors for certain models of their RO units.

Finally replaced the flow restrictor. No change. Leaks at the input to the DI membrane.
My next move is considering junking the unit. Idk how all of a sudden it’s not working given it worked great before I replaced the membrane. Given this is the first time in 3 years it’s been replaced.

It’s leaking at the fitting to the input of the do or is it a canister leak. Those connections at times give way and are just like toasty etc… you’ll have to go piece by piece to check everything. It’ll be cheaper than getting a new unit. Also if you need rodi water lmk and we could meet and I could always gift you some until your unit is back up & running chief. I know your frustration.
