was cleaning my pump and noticed this rust looking spot?

The yellow spot on the ceramic shaft may not be rust.

It’s rust and it’s well documented. Google it and you’ll see.

Sure looks like rust.

Check the magnet rotor to see if it is cracked. The shaft is stainless steel with ceramic casing, you can see if the shaft is rusted. The wet side is a consumable product according to Ecotech and they said to replace it every 18 month.
