Missing Colorado...
I was just wondering how everyone felt about changing out sandbeds. I've been rereading the maintenance sections on a number of the TOTM's at Reefcentral, and it seems like quite a few of them replace their sandbeds every 6-12 months. Does anyone else follow this? It seems excessive, but I suppose a lot goes into this questions (ie, deep vs shallow, number of sifting creatures, etc). I was also wondering how one would go about changing a sandbed becuase it sounds like a total PITA, 6 hour, pickled hand, 10 beer event. Is it something that needs to be done very slowly (like over a few weeks)? Thanks a lot, and to everyone who celebrates, merry christmas!
