My star got caught in my Tunze. He is chewed up but I think he is still alive. 1 leg is all shredded. Should I cut it clean off? Any tips?

I'd agree, cut off clean. A razor blade and a cutting board (or the inside glass of the tank) will do the job.

Okay thanks, He was in the main tank but hermits and fish were picking on him. I moved him to the sump....
