Hey fellow reefers,

I just acquired a deresa clam and there is algae growing on it which I know is perfectly normal and should not hurt the clam but is it safe to scrape it off? Before introducing to DT? Or should i just let m CUC take care of it? Thanks guys!

Tangs will clean and polish, otherwise leave it alone.

Scrape it off is faster and more effective than CUC. Put the clam in a large bowl filled with tank water. Tickle the clam so that it stay shut. Now you can scrape away.

If its on the shell youll be fine using a soft tooth brush to scape it off.
