I would try to put it in a location that you would like it, as previously stated they do have minds of their own. I call mine the wanderer.

Well looks like its going to stay here for now, i just hope my 2 clowns will take to it, and yes i know i have some cyno on those rocks i will be working on getting rid of that soon

About how long does it take for clown fish to take to a Anemone?? i have 2 and hopping they will take to this.

It took months for my clowns to host my seabae.

I had a couple sebaes and my clown never took to them. As soon as I got a BTA, he was in there within hours and hasn't left since. Not sure if that holds 100% true or not, but in my experience they really like the bta and take to it faster than the sebaes. Patience is a virtue I guess. Good luck!

If they are true percula's and they are wild caught I've been told my LFS's that they should host faster than captive caught clowns...

I don't have any experience per say really, but i have actually heard the exact opposite of afboundguy:

I have heard that you would think wild ones would take to it faster, but something about the captive raised ones feeling more comfortable and being more curious.

Thats just something i heard though, I don't have any experience with it.

i just picked up one of these today, its goin in the tank in a lil bit so i'll post up what happens. i've got a pair of true percs and they're "hosting" my hairy mushroom at the time but its not looking too good (all shriveled 75% of the day) so im hoping the clowns will pick the new mansion my g/f got em.

well the sabae settled right in, no problem. attached to a rock in like 10 seconds and hasnt moved.

the clowns... i dont think they've even seen it yet.

there was a big maroon gold stripe hosting it at the store, so i guess we'll see what happens.

Why is it my sabae is upside down?? i fed him yesterday and one of my clowns did take to him but for the last cpl days i cant seem to keep him on his base he will eventually end up back upside down why is this??

Great to hear your clown is hosting........not great to hear the anemone doesn't seem too happy. Not much experience with your particular situation, but in general I always thought movement and not attaching are not good signs. I know my bta moved like crazy right before he split and then settled back down again. Is he still out fully as normal or is he pulled in most of the time? If he is still out and just not settling, could be that he is in the middle of a split. Could still be stress from the move when you got him.........is he eating that you can see?

not a good sign....unless it's upside down and attached to something

What and how often are you feeding it?

I up righted him again and placed some rocks around him, it seems to me he just does not want to attach yet, i fed him yesterday some thawed out frozen squid he did eat it, i look at hime and looks good, i could take a photo and post it here
