Settings for Tunze 7095?

Armando

v 4.0
Just wondering how you set your 7095 knobs and switches. I think Interval 2 is what I need for 2 alternating pumps.

Mine is on interval 1 with the interval set at 1-60 seconds way down so they pulse about 4 seconds each. All four power settings are on high so that they are 100% on or 100% off. I found this gives the most chaotic flow because the pressure comming out swirls around at first and four seconds is long enough to push that swirly water to the other end of the tank. Then the other side pushes out a swirl.

That is the effect I was going for because of the magnifica. What kind of effect ar you looking for?

I'm looking for a simple wave effect. Something like a "super SCWD".

I'm not sure if I understand the "night mode" button. Is it to "force" the night mode (always night) or to "enable" night mode (using the optical sensor)?

it enables it with the optical sensor.

If you want the other pump completely off when the other is on use interval 1. Interval 2 leaves the second pump on the lower setting while the first is on the higher. Isn't that manual fun to read?

i gave up on the manual :D

I wonder if they used babblefish to translate it? It is almost correct english, but just wrong enough that you have no idea what they are trying to say.

Great...keep the translations coming on this, I just brought mine home thursday, I haven't even ventured to open the instructions yet!

I think I have the gist of it worked out. Tell me what you want it to do and I think I can tell you how to make it do it.

i'm thinking about putting 1 turbelle in a 72 gallon bow, aka, 4 foot tank. Lowest setting, pulse. What do you guys think? Get a bigger tank isn't an option right now ;)

If it's on the lowest setting then it will not pulse. It will just run at a constant 30%. or about 5-6 gph for the 6000. To pulse it needs to cycle between two speeds say like 30% and 80%

you could put it on interval to get it to go 30% and 0%. That being said, I have 2 6000s in a 120 (4'x2'x2') and the flow isn't overdone even at 100%.

But you could get a $20 MaxiJet to do that;)

I am currently using maxijets on a redsea.... I was thinking the turbelle with a controller and doing like, a lower setting pulse, so that i didn't blow the flesh off my coral. I think I need to check a turbelle out, in tank..

check it out. the flow is wide, so the 30% is very mild and even 100% won't blow flesh off unless it is a few inches away. With the controler you can pulse it betwen any two speeds not just down to 30%

I have one 6000 in a 5 foot long tank and I wish I got the 6100. It just dosen't make it to the end with that much flow. One in a 4 food long 72 may not be too strong.

The water in my tank is still about 20 inches away from the bottom of the Tunzes. At the rate my RO/DI makes water I figure my tank will be filled in about 1 week and then I'll have to get out my German/English dictionary....that manual is a disaster!!

we need Karl to help us!

I have 2 6000s in my 75 on interval 1 with 15 sec bursts. one channel is at 100% and the other at 80%. Ive played around with the pulse and other settings but I like the way that one side calms down and then recieves a big burst of flow from the other direction. With the returns I have constant flow turbulance at varying speeds. should work well for sps when i finally change over this weekend from my 46 to the 75.

great thing about these pumps is that there are no dead spots. im getting better water movement in the corners than i was anywhere else im my other tank with 4-mj 1200s.

anyone actually using the moonlight? i didn't like it, it's too white for me.

I use it, but only as a night light for the fish. It is supposed to be white and dim to simulate the moonlight underwater close to the surface. I have noticed a really huge jump in the number of snail eggs since using it, but that could be coincidence.
