should i try to mix these two

my wife really loves harlequin shrimp but she also loves the purple dotty back. i have read that they love to eat shrimp. but i have also read that alot of people keep harlys with them without a problem. i do have an other tank that i can put either one in.

I have not had problems with purple dotties with shrimp! But just to ask a question why a harlequin shrimp? Do you have an astria star issue?

she loves them. our favorit cartoon villians is the joker and harley quinn. so once she found out that there is shrimp name after her favorit person in the world she wanted them. plus she loves there personality too. we have had them before just never with a dottyback

Their shrimp hunting is probably hit and miss (like a lot of things in the reef keeping world). Might be worthwhile to try a small peppermint shrimp in with your dottyback first. I have a royal gramma who will eat fairly large peppermint shrimp.
