DH and I were at...ugh WalMart looking at some hunting stuff for him and I came across shoulder length gloves used for field dressing. There were two in a pack plus a pair of latex gloves. They were 2.?? (two dollars and change). I know that's expensive but figured I would put it out there in case anyone's in a pinch for them.

That's probably because most of the pet store distributors only sell the Coralife arm gloves, and they are expensive and bulky to work with.
So many items that are useful in this hobby, you will find much cheaper as other products or items for another market. For instance instead of a wavemaker like the Red Sea Wavemaster, one could get a DJ light controller for a lot less and acheive the same results.

The disposible gloves for giving cows internal exams work well too. They cover your sholder and underarm for not getting your shirt wet.

I'm yet to have an issue with just a good ole pair of hands ;)

There have been quite a few people on here who have suffered infections from touching or even brushing some of their tank inhabitants, such as anemones and bristle worms. If you do a search, I'm sure you'll find some threads. It may be a pain sometimes but IMO, it's worth not getting a painful sting or infection of some sort. ::

Loosing mobility in a hand will often improve the practice of bare-handing a piece of live rock or coral. I learned through others experience and always at least wear latex gloves.
Many people will not ever have a bad experience while involved with this hobby.

Personally, I don't want to be "That dude who..."

Hey Corey,
I used to be a teen educator and heard this all the time. Different application but the advice stands.

You don't want to find out the hard way when something falls off...

I have a brand new pair, couldnt even fit them on. All I ever heard on the forum is no bare hands in the tank. Im coming out of the closet, I go bare back.
