Anything i can do he has lightened up in color and is now on his side and is so week cant even fight the current. Taking deep breaths two. Just noticed this morning. now 3 fish in 30 days now this is how a reefer begins to break.

Does he/she have a good diet? Sometimes a bad diet can lead to colors fading.

Heavy breathing could also be signs of increasing Ammonia/Nitrite. Maybe have your water tested.

Have you tested your water? If not thats what I would do. Might need to do a water change.

Good luck!

His best chance to survive is if you do nothing. Most people's knee-jerk reactions do more harm than good.

Check tank parameters to determine what the root cause is. Could also be a sick specimen to begin with.

ok ill cheack the peramters next chance i get but he is looking a lil better since this morning hes fighting the current a lil better. And why would there be bubles in my tank??

that was suppose toi be posted an hour ago
but now she is under neith the water swimming down shes looking great come on when shes all better im doin 30% water change

not on its side any more but still breathing heavy

he keeps hopping in the over flow hes gonna stay there tommarow cant see him with the out the light on cause hes on the bottem. but a hermit decided to go back there too so he has a friend

Lil guy didnt make it, sad now my next problem is reaching him at the bottom of my overflow. My arm is tow big to fit all the way down. And i cant manover a net in there sweet this is fun

since it didn't make it, unbend a coat hanger and skewer it. Not pretty, but practical. :o

Sorry for your loss X.:( Clowns are among my favorites. Had them in my first SW tank....when I was your age.

Think about taking this as an opportunity to step back for a minute and stabilize you tanks. Think about QT as well. My 2c.

had to take apart all my pumps to get them, this is not my week just noticed my clam fell in the bakc of my tank so now i need to remoe some rock to get to him, dont have time now to get to him, my luck contiues this month

Sorry to hear about your luck.

thanxs man on top of it i have a few test today, i already started the break down of the top just trying to make neough room to get in the back, ill have ti work on it more in an hour heading to another test lata

Have you tested your water to see if you could find what killed your clown? I'd do that fast before the problem clears up, so you know what you need to fix. Otherwise you may continue to lose fish.

It could be ammonia, or it could be a parasite, like brooklynella. Was the clown uniformly light-colored, or was the lightness splotchy? Are there any fish remaining in the tank? What's your history of adding/losing fish.

I'd definitely not add any fish until you figure out what caused the problem. It may be that you need let your tank lie fallow if it was a parasite like brook.

already took a sample out and am doing a water change later today still working on getting to this poor clam :( and yes ALL and I mean all the fish are looking good, he just came down with something. Adding fish, i have only lost 2 out of the 10 fish that ive boughten right away, i lost one 2 Cardianal a scooter a maroon clown and now a clown. Ive lost 3 fish in 2 weeks. Scooter was looking great then just went missing, the cardianl looked stunded and then disappereared and now the clown. Water will be tested ASAP

I assume this is the 24 gallon tank?

You've got 10 fish in it? (well now 5 with the losses?) I'll be a box of donuts (and I value nothing more than donuts) that your problem is right there. You've got way too many fish for a tank that size. I'm willing to bet that you'll measure ammonia when you test your water. Ammonia makes it hard for fish to obtain oxygen, and they will move slowly, and gill rapidly.

Plus it sounds like a few of the fish died, and you were unable to remove them from the tank, right. In a tank that small, I think that could be a real problem too, probably causing transient ammonia spikes.

A tank that size should probably have a max of 4 small fish.

I agree with Nate. I have 10 fish in my 92, with a total volume of about 220gallons. I have 10 fish in my 72 as well, with 110 gallon volume, and I end up with chemistry problems if I am not RIGHT ON TOP of my husbandry....

no dont have ten ive gotten ten over a period of a ten and a 24
and a 3
