sigh.........waterchange

Admit your lazy like the rest of us and figure out a way to make it easier ;)

i like water changes.. gives me time to interact with the tank :D :P

screw it. There's always tomorrow.

That's my attitude all the time!!! That's why weekly water changes turn into biweekly water changes

40 gallons per change here on average, larger - depending on the size of the flood

It's not the water change that is tedious. It's rather easy. Just siphon out water and pumping in water. I can do that all day.
It's the freaking cleaning this and that, change this media and that, etc. On occasion, you'll break something as well.

2 gallons a week

turned into 2 gallons a month

turned into 2 gallons every other month

i'm at to every other week now.

But...

the pico tank hasnt seen a water change- EVER, and it has a fish in it that shouldnt even be in there in the first place.

doesnt it change as I add top off? Im putting in 1 1/2gal per day. Thats over 10gal a week. I do the same with my car oil. JK

1/2" male thread to Garden hose on a ball valve via closed loop for approx 10-15gallons. Close the loop and it goes back through the chiller into the tank. Now thats lazy. I call that 2 for one.

I hate water changes as much as the next person. I just have to open a ball valve to pump the water out and down a drain then plug in a pump to fill the tank back up. I can change 20 gallons in less then 5 minutes and sometimes I still push it off to the next day.

5g every ten days.

Gotta get a bucket of RO from the closet, dump two cups of salt in it, drop a powerhead in, then drink a beer.

Then another beer.

Siphon out the old water, making sure to get some of the red slime off my rocks. Usually do this with a beer in the free hand. After siphoning, gotta pull the hermits out of my catch bucket and throw them back in the tank. Talk about some dizy inverts...

Drink another beer.

Check the SG of the new water. Mutter something like, "close enough", forget to check the temp, and pour it into the sump.

One more beer.

Honestly, I kinda look forward to water changes...*hic*
