Skimmer - Outside Air

I imagine you could, but I'm sure you'd blow through O2. Plus i'd rather not have a cylinder of that around just incase of a fire.
 
I'd be afraid that the skimmer would turn into a flamethrower :)

IMO the caution here is just that we should considering filtering outside air "just in case". Anything the skimmer sucks in gets mixed with the tank water. Any pollutants that float past the skimmer's air inlet will be sucked in.

That said, we are breathing the air so it can't be that bad ;)

It is a real issue not something to overlook, that is why I suggested using an air filter. I have experienced a taste of pollutants from the air, it isn't pretty.
 
Injecting cold air into a turbocharger givers more horsepower, but in a reef it makes a heater work more. If the outside air is that much better why would anyone want that air for their fish but not for themselves??? F the fish give me the fresh air!!! HA HA it's freezing up here right now!!!
