Snails are ALL spawning

Mrs Fish

obsessed!
All (yes, I mean ALL) my snails are at the top of a rock or the top of the water line and are spawning. I notice that exactly this time yesterday was a new moon. Anyone else had snail activity today/yesterday?

most of mine are at the top of the tank on the water line too. I didn't know thats what this meant, do the babies have a shot at making it in the tank or will something eat them?

i've got baby snails of all sizes in the tank......have to clean them out of powerhead grilles at least once a week.

wow isnt it amazing watching them. ive observed all my snails approx 50 of them spawn at the same time like your snails, they were all lined on top of the water line. pumping sperm and eggs, its funny there was so much of it, my water turned milky white. that was like a few months back. im not sure if they ever made it,but im noticing in my refuge. there are tiny baby snails. maybe they came in on some macro?

A few moons ago a couple of friends of mine were discussing the spawning behaviour of a few of our tank friends. It was out vibex.

Maybe he was just checking her pockets for a stick of gum....

Astreas will not survive the plantonic stage (at least they never have from the many spawnings I've seen). The Trochus do sometimes survive. I've had a few grow out. Never enough to make much difference. For those of you who do...that's really great.

hi greg its reallly something to watch. mine are astrea snails from what i can see. reef keeping has so many benefits and interesting things.

does anyone know the name of the snails with the black mouth and black foot, with orange edges? and a rounded shell.

I have these eggs on the side of my tank and on the base of my new acropora frag.. it kind of looks like sesame seed but a little bigger.. are they snail eggs? i can post a pic tommorrow.. i noticed that these things are mostly on my rock...

 Maybe acro eating flatworms
I wouldnt put that frag in your tank yet.

Snails spawning.

Snails always do that on a full moon. It is something that they automatically do.
