sps placement and ID questions.

1) I have this guy near the back of the tank and his back side is turning a bit white due to lack of light. How important is it that they get light on all sides? I'm planning to move him but was just curious if it's absolutely necessary.

2) ID verification, is this a Acropora? I forgot the write down the info when I brought it home and have totally forgotten.

Without a photo it would be very hard/ impossible to ID.
 
It is normal for the undersides of colonies and/or shaded branches to loose some of their color with many Acropora. Is the color lightening up a bit in the shaded area, or is it actually turning white?

More lightening up than white.
