start of 240 cube

hehe thats why i was thinking of another bridge, the squamosa is going to be nicely framed on the living room side by the bridge over there, I was thinking the Elegance might be jealous if it doesnt get a cool "frame" too :)

pictures soon promise
but new update to this money pit grr.
went downstairs to check things this morning and hook the Ca reaCtor back online to find that my skimmer pump wasnt working and a nice nasty burning smell..
been wanting to do an outside skimmer so now I have no choice
have changed out the Sedra 12000 to a gen x 40 and will hopefully get time to plumb that in soon :(

Dawn,

Looks great, ADVICE: put a union on the inlet to the OM. You will have to rebuild the OM, soak in vinegar, etc about every 6-9 months and you will need a union at the bottom to facilitate removal. Also - you can't always get the drum out from the top when it locks up due to Calcium precipitation. I find a union on the bottom just below the threaded connections allows me to break that open and stick a screw driver in from underneath to pop the drum up and out.

If this isn't a future tank of the month I will be very surprised.

thanks Rob it is something we realized after the fact I have the union here and we figured at this point when cleaning time comes we will repair/replace that pvc and put it in

Clamm I wouldnt go that far LOL I have lost alot of my SPS and sunk more into this money pit than anticipated so with 5 weeks of travel nad 4 kids there is no money for fill in pieces for a while ;) maybe sometime in 2008 ;)

and here are a few pics of the aquascaping and inhabitants/guinea pigs ;)

Looks great Dawn....Will you be adding corals this weekend? Love how you hid all the returns. Once it fills in it is going to be awesome!

Hi. I think this is going to be one of my favorite tanks ever. I love it! When you have some time would you mind posting stats on your setup? Also, who built the stand/cabinet? Great job and nicely done.

Rob I am loving it
except the OM which got sand or something in it and I have to take a part and clean hopefully after feild day today (9-3 with 430 5-11 yr olds ) I will have the patience and energy to do it !!

this is a 240 4x4 x2 tenecor acrylic tank

-water movement by an Ocean Motions 4 way drilled under the tank
OM powered by a blueline 70 dedicated to it

-100 gallon stock tank in the basement filled with rock and misc things water to and f rom run by a genx-40

-break off of water to a 40 gallon petco clam tank which right now is also a misc. tank but will transfer to a fuge as soon as I am empty and get my hands on some cheato ;) which will have either a LOA light of PClighting not sure yet whats laying around the cellar

PM bullet 2 protein skimmer and octopus? ( I think anyway ) dual chamber Ca reactor both fed by a genx-40

that Gorgeous stand you see was built by Calciumbuf/Jim
his work is awesome and you will never be disappointed Ill get some better pics of it if I ever get my real camera back

lighting on this tank right now is a 48in. 2x250de maristar and will be adding a 250de oceanlights pendant if that doesnt get the effect I want I also have a 2x250 aquamedic that may be added

if I forgot anything feel free to ask ;)
