Suggest Some Nano Fish

Good morning everyone.

I'm looking to add some small fish to add some more movement to my reef. It is a 55 gallon almost-cube.

Current stocking:

1x Canary Wrasse (3")
1x Springer's Dottyback (3")
1x Blue Green Chromis (2")
2x Unidentified Chromis types (2-3")

I'm looking for fish suggestions that will hover around 1-2" when fully grown that are compatible with the fish listed above. FWIW, the dotty is the mildest mannered fish in the tank, and nothing is super aggressive (though I think the two UnId'd Chromis are a pair as they tend to defend territory together).

you could get a flasher wrasse. i think most of them stay in the 2-3 inch range and they are great looking fish.

neon gobies are kinda cool. They're small, easy to keep and tend to hang together.

neon gobies are pretty need but i read that you can only keep one to a tank unless its a pair.

Not sure about that... I've had as many as 5 in my 90gal. They group-up and setup housekeeping in different parts of the tank. For a nono I'd say 2 is your best bet.

Call and check, but I'm pretty sure Skiptons has some Glass cardinals in stock currently.

That being said, from what I hear they're difficult to keep in captivity. need some pretty active feeding I think from the posts i've seen over on Nano-Reef.com

Thanks - was there yesterday and they did not. Though they are potentially on my list.

We had the Parvalis/tail spot/red spot Cardinals, IMO they are the best schooling fish for a small non aggresive tank. (although I think your ?chromis? may destroy them) I do bring in the Glass/threadfin/blue eye Cardinals as well. But IME they will end up pairing off like Bangaii as they get bigger, and they are pretty ugly fish to boot.

How about a Possum Wrasse or a cryptic Sixline Wrasse? Sunburst Anthias, Geometric Pygmy Hawk. A Shrimp Goby and Pistol Shrimp pair???

+2 on the neons. Active hardy, easy to keep, stick to walls, whats not to like? (Also, whoever told you they are hard to take care of didn't know what they were talking about)

Like reefer said. The only downside for neons is that they're not naturally longlived. I've heard 2-3yrs on the outside.
