Dry up as much as possible and try to locate a general area where the water is coming from, then narrow it down from there. Good luck, for what its worth, i hear that patch stuff is hit or miss, might just want to swap out the sump

Was this sump just set up, or has it been running for a while?

First I'd go over everything down there and look for a leaking bulkhead, something that came loose or something that might be causing water to splash out.

If the sump is leaking, it's probably pretty hard to fix without disassembling everything. Is it glass or acrylic?

A lot of the time a cheap rubbermaid tub will work great as a temp sump.

Check the gasket on the bulkhead, is it against the flange or against the nut? It needs to be against the flange.

If the gasket is in the right place, check the bulkhead to be sure it isn't cracked.

The bulk head is fine i was correcting what i put the bulkhead is good but not seeing a leak in the sump or tank

Good outcome. Best bet, get several of those filter socks so you can rotate them out for cleaning every day or so.
