Sunday, May 4th, VFW Oxford - Craig Bingman - Ardruino Build

Yay!

Sent from my Galaxy S4

Posted in my build thread, but wanted to post here before the meeting. I'm looking for the following:

- 2 or 3 people with established systems to donate a cup of sand to seed my new tank; if wanted/needed I could give you a cup of new rinsed sand I just got from Marco (coarse size).
- 1 or 2 small(er) pieces of established live rock / or some live rock rubble; willing to pay reasonable prices or replace rubble with new Marco rubble

If you can help with either of these please PM me.

Thanks!

Looks like I'll be buying some extra raffle tickets :)

I think you guys can just save your money on the raffles since I will be there to bring this bad boy home ;)

Should have posted this sooner, but I have plenty of 4.7k resistors if anyone hasn't gotten theirs yet.

It's going to RAIN!!! Sunday.
So get to the meeting and have some fun!

How about some more gift certificates :)

We'll be adding two $25.00 gift certificates to Aqua Cave.

Thanks Aqua Cave!

Still looking for donations for the Fish Goo. Just bring an item in and get on the list.

Hope to see you all there shortly. Grabbing my coffee and picking up Craig at the hotel and then heading west.

I hope everyone had a great time at the meeting today!
Wish I could have made this one!

Was great to see everybody again. :)
It was cool to see the results of the survey that Craig took.
Congrats to whoever won the Reefbreeder lighting fixture.

Yes, please correct me if I am wrong. I believe it was craigk that won the reefbreeder light. His sequence of numbers was right after mine. As much as I would have wanted the light I cannot complain as it is the first time in over three years and probably more than $300.00 in raffle tickets my curse was broke. I took home a nice reactor that will be a good edition to my collection of parts that need assembling.

It is always great to see everyone at the meeting and observe the interaction that occurs.

This was an intense meeting with the first segment of the arduino build (this was a learning experience in regards to fitting this into the meeting time). I hope those that participated enjoyed the experience and benefited by it. I hope others that were there to witness what was occurring may have been inspired to possibly take on this task in the future. Anything that we can do to drive cost down to make this hobby sustainable is great! Thank you John/johntan for taking on this task.

Craig gave an awsome lecture... although at times over my head (keeping in mind I am short to start with) it was good to see the interaction and dialogue occurring between Craig and some of our more experienced members.

I want to thank reefstarter/Anthony for sharing his beginners experiences with us as well. Hopefully a couple of tidbits will help avoid others new to the hobby from making the same mistakes.

Thank you again to the volunteers and BOD that brought this meeting together. I know that some travel well over an hour just to attend the meeting and ensure it gets off to a satisfactory completion.

Stay tuned for the next meeting announcement. I know that the venue is out of the way for some, but it should be a good time to relax, talk, swap some frags, toss a horse shoe, eat some BBQ and enjoy a nice day out on the outside covered veranda of the Newburyport Elks. Make a day of it and bring the kids to the beach for a walk before or after the meeting or doe some surf casting along the New England shoreline. There is a ton to do in the area between shopping in downtown Newburyport at the shops, antiquing and yardsales to keep everyone happy.

Did anyone get any pictures of the arduino build or fishgoo.
