SunPod HQI Metal Halide Fixtures with Lunar Lights

Has anyone had any experience with these fixtures? I am looking to upgrade my lighting, and these seem to be cost effective. I have a 29Gallon reef that I am looking to get out of the PC stone age. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I am running 2 of these fixtures (250w on a 34g, and 150w on a 24g) and am quite pleased. I keep lots of SPS in both tanks and have had few problems. All those lunar lights look absolutely gorgeous as well. However I will add this, growth rates under the 250w are almost double those under the 150w, so you might want to go with the larger fixture.

Thanks for taking the time to answer my question. Now the only issue I have with the 250 is the fact that my tank is 30". It seems difficult to find a thirty inch fixture in general. I know I can get the 30" 150watt fixture. If I did get the 250 in the 24" length would that provide enough coverage for the whole tank or would there be some dark spots? Or could I go with the 36" fixture and the over hang wouldn't really matter?

They each only have one bulb and the 250 watt reflector is much larger than the 150 reflector so with the shorter 250 fixture you would have a better coverage than with a longer 150 fixture. You just wont be able to use the legs to mount it on your tank, so you would have to hang it.

THey most definily make a 30" 250 watt fixture, i just can't seem to find someone who sells it. I have only checked a few retailers on line, and it seems that the 30" fixture in any brand is hard to come by.

I have a 30' tank and it is harder to find supplies that fit it. I currently run a 250w DE about 9 inches off the water and I don't have any dark spots.

i had a 150w over a 29g and it was great the corals def. grow but 250 would be better. or you could do a 150w fixture with pc retro fitted and get you into the 250 range
