Supplement question .

Hello, I have a question. I am going to Germany for a week and was wondering if I could add a weeks worth of Calcium and Magnesium to my auto top off container? It takes a week for my ATO to be used up, I have been keeping track of the time it takes to empty and has been consistent. I know a dosing pump will work as well but for now if I can do it in my ATO water would work better for me right now. Thank you.

I was actually wondering the same thing. I am in the process of switching my ATO water from just RODI to at least kalk, but also wondered if I could mix some mag in there as well. Hope we get some help on this one

I think this would be ok as long as you havea pump in ur ato to mix the water up. If it were me I would hold off on the mag as ur system probably doesnt use it that fast

I'd just dose Mg till it was at the right parameter 1250-1500 ppm and forget about it.
Mg. wont deplete hardly any in a week.
As for the calcium.Why not mix in some kalkwasser in the top off if it doesn't add it that fast?
JMO,but one week without supplements is not going to do much harm to the tank.

This is fine when using kalk but can be an issue if using any other method. You can not add a larg amount of calcium and alkalinity suppliment to fresh water because they will precipitate out of solution at a high concentration. This is why people don't add 2 part to their top off water, only kalk.
