Talk about putting your foot in your mouth...why is my clam doing this?

I have a little blue squamosa that has been doing great...it still looks fine actually, except it's sticking it's foot out of it's intake siphon. Has anyone seen this?

Waoo, never see that before. Are you sure it is its foot?

I'm pretty sure it's the foot, because I have seen them come out of the bottom of this one and one of my little maximas a few times before when they were trying to attach. It looks completely normal now.

Have you tried posting over on the 'Tridacnid Clams and other Mollusks' section on ReefCentral? There is usually a ton of good information over there. If nothing else it is a really interesting thing to see and more people will be exposed to it

I've been keeping clams for long time and I've never seen any of mine does that.
