Tank Shut Down by GFI

Got a call today from fiance stating tank temp was down and she noticed the led clock on light was not on. She then realized system was shut down. I have the whole system on its own 20amp service with everything tied into a GFI. Thank god she is aware of the things to do and to take action. I believe the cause was a faulty power head which in terms with the water tripped the GFI. She saved the day. Just a note to let everyone know to check your GFI to insure they are working.

i dont understand...that would suggest that the GFI was working properly if the faulty powerhead tripped the gfi. correct?

Good thing for the Mrs!

This is why my tank run on 3 separate circuits. That way it doesn't shut my tank down entirely if one trips

My main pump and powerheads are on different circuits. The lights are on yet another. A controller like an apex that can text you when the power goes out or parameters are out of range is another level of safety. Having someone at home that knows what to do when things go wrong is priceless:)
