think about height if youre downgrading. the deeper the more light you'll need for corals. if you go past 20" deep than Id say its MH lighting rather than T5. I always thought that a 4'L x 2' x 20" H would be a sweet setup (for a 4ft length). I like the front to back space for aquascaping and this way its not too deep and need to get on a step ladder everytime you go "fishing"

I prefer oceanics 120g, black silicone, eurobracing, starfire front panel, 24" width is a big + for me, the lowprofile overflow and blacked out back.

What's the big deal about Elos i've never saw one I just keep on hearing about them.

Elos tanks just look sharp as hell if you ask me. Just not worth the price tag IMO.

If you buy Elos your buying a system not just a tank. They are designed as a comlete system. They do have a nice clean look to them. I think the cost is pretty close to what people actually spend setting up a whole system, that is if it is a nice clean quality setup.

Are these all custom built tanks? (I'm new to this). Are they way superior to the oceanic ready-made reef-ready tanks? I was just looking at a 180 by Oceanic (72 x 24 x 24 as I remember) last week, and was thinking it would look great on my Christmas list! Am I missing something critical here? Maybe it's just that I'm a novice, and don't get into the plumbing part of it!

Some are custom like the Aquariums for you or the Glass cages, basically allowing you the size tank & plumbing layout you desire. The Elos tanks are not custom just really really nice tanks and complete systems. As far as being superior thats just a matter of opinion I think.
