Tank Webcam

First off I would like to say thank you to Carlo for the help setting this up!
Now I can watch my fish and check out my tank conditions from anywhere.

Lights go out at 10pm and come back on at 10am and I need to work on a good spot for the camera for a better shot of the tank.

You also must use IE, it will not work with firefox

Let me know what you think

thanks
Ray

I may have been wrong because I was at work and sometimes the firewall blocks sites.

I tried it now and I got the "Compact Wireless-G Internet Video Camera" page so it appears it would have worked during those hours...We will try tomorrow.

i see your linksys page but nothing else

Windows does not know the publisher of the file that needs to load localy so it cant display the video

file is netcamplayerweb11gv2.cab

I think I was having problems last night but I think it is working now

Liam, you still getting that error?

now i have an eternal connecting to live video stream message?

I have found in my intranet using these web cams that if security settings are too high the Active X control does not install. I just temporarily set them to low, access the site, install the control then reset security settings and it seems to work. Hope this helps.

Now that I think of it I did have that issue with the active x and did what Sara said to get it to work

thanks Sara for pointing that out

My daughter is playing Cars on the 360 :)

I kicked the lights on so you should see now

If you are running updated Windows IE 7 the active x is being blocked from running which is the Video Feed. You can change the settings in your browser to ask if you want it to run. By default it will shut down any unknown active x. Ray it is working fine on your end dont change anything....lol

Okay in the Security Center area of your browser. Click on Custom. Under custom go for the headings marked Active X. Under that there is an option that will say something to the affect of: Download Unsigned active X, it would be disabled if you cant get video. Click on Prompt. When you load the page it will ask if you want it to run. Click install..... Works here
