Tap Water and RO/DI

Hello everyone,
I had picked up a RO/DI unit not too long ago and I just don't know if well water has enough pressure to filter the water. Does anyone happen to run a RO/DI unit with just well water? I am getting a more waste water than many say they are getting. If anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

If your not getting enough pressure you can always run a booster pump before the RO unit. Have you measured the ratio of waste to product water?
How fast is your product water being made? (? gpd or gph)
Also do you have a pressure guage on the RODI?

You should expect that the volume of waste water will be 3-4x the volume of RO/DI water.

If your ratio is wrong (should be about 3:1 waste:filtered), then just get a different output restrictor; maybe try a variable one.

if you dont have a pressure gauge on your Rodi you should have one on your big blue tank for your water that will tell you your water pressure is, just run a tap and see what the pressure reads it should be between 40-60 psi. i have a well and do run a booster pump but only because my set was secondhand and came with it. the pressure needed is actually quite low, too. My unit is the fire water ice 100gpd, and it's "high pressure" at 75psi. From my faucet, that's opening it up about 1/4 of the way.

I run an RO/DI unit with well water. My pressure is only 30 to 40 pounds. It works but you get a lot of water going down the drain. I did just add a booster pump which is fantastic. Cut down the waste water and boosted the pressure to 75 psi.
