TDS meters

nashlake

Rochester, NH
I am in the market for a TDS meter. Not sure if I should be looking for an inline style of hand held.

What is your recommendation?

i have a inline and really like it, that way you just hit a button to see whats going in and coming out

I have one of each. The duel in lines are much more useful, you can put the in after your RO and the out after your DI. That way you know the TDS coming out of the RO and out of the DI to know when filters need to be replaced. If you get a handheld, you need to disconnect tubes on the filter to check the performace of the RO membrane, since you can only check the final product.

I have a dual inline TDS meter installed at the input and output of my RO membrane. I have a handheld TDS (Hana) meter to check the water before I mixed the salt.
Every reefer must have a TDS meter and a refractometer.

How do the dual inlines work?

Do they function as 2 meters measuring TDS in 2 separate areas of the filter
or are the in/out sensors designed to measure the differance on either side of the RO membrane?

Thanks

The duel inlines measure in 2 areas. Doesn't matter if it is in out or not. You can measure in any 2 spots you want.
