temps with todays humdity?

chew*, when you say you are switching to a reverse lighting schedule do you mean running your lights at night?

If so, do you slowly transition the tank or do you just switch it all at once? This might be something I might try out, but I am concerned that my leopard wrasse and other fish might freak out about a serious switch in schedule.

I think i only hit about 79 yesterday.

AC running all day in the tanks room, at about 76 degrees, as well as a fan over the sump.

My tank stayed normal at 79-80 but I had the a/c on most of the day, you know to help the cat stay cool :p I'll be investing in some more canopy fans soon so I can run the a/c a little warmer to save some $

77 deg.
One of the beni's of a basement sump.:)

80.1
again bennie of the large sump in the basement ;)
although it is time to remember to close the blinds during the day to keep the sun out.

I hit 83.7 and I have Central Air, but NO WAY I'm going to put it on before June!.....as long as its gradual a temp swing of 4 or 5 degrees isnt bad for the tank...(as long as the swing isn't from 85-90") but the normal 78-83 is fine on corals, even 80-85 which I had all last summer before moving to a house with C.A.

81 here......even with the 250 gallons in the basement. This is pre-Maristar, and pre AC on.

Nothing under 85 scares me. I hit 83 yesterday. I have a few 120mm computer fans directed at the water. I may need to add a larger fan. Do people run the fans over their tanks or over their sumps? or both?

I hit 79 today up from 78.5. Nice to have the tank in the basement.

Gets a little humid down there in summer, but I love the basement setup. The funny thing is it's this time of year when my tank is coldest. The tank is in a room with the furnace. Furnace hardly ever goes on and with no heater (I let my lights heat the tank), my current temp is only 76.6. My fishies think it's mid winter.

PS, cooled off a lot last night. They actually posted frost watches in the mountains.

I run a reverse light schedule also. I started early last summer when I had temp spike that cost me a good amount of my SPS. Since then I've left it at 2:00 pm to 11:00 pm. It works out better I think because the lights are on for the evening which is more enjoyable to me since I'm home then. The only time it's a little bit of a pita is on the weekends when I'd like to work on the tank in the morning.

As for changing the schedule, sure, ideally you'd like to changing it slowly. But honestly I don't think it really messes the fish up too badly, at least not for long. My change was in response to a heat issue so I did it all at once. The first few days the fish disappeared for bedtime while the lights were still on. They adjusted within a couple of days though.

I just do it all at once, I don't think it bothers the fish to much. they really have no sense of daytime anyway, theres no high/low tide in a tank. Rooms preety dark that the tank is in.

He does have leopard wrasses though and they definately can tell the difference. I have heard of them not coming out during the new light schedule for weeks at a time after a switch.

Yes dehumidifier runs quite a bit and adds heat to the room as well. I need to set up a humitistat and vent system some time to get a little more efficient! The 400W MH seems to put out considerably mor heat than the 250 I was running last summer as well.

Cape Cod.....Still have my socks on....Chilly.
