Test Kit Help

I am cycling my tank and need to start testing soon and am wondering what brand people use.

Test Kits and what I was thinking about using:
Calcium, Alk, and Phosphates- Hanna Checker
Nitrate, Nitrite, Ammonia- ?
Magnesium- Elos

I have reed a lot of people say they use API or cheaper test kits for Nitrate, Nitrite, and Ammonia. What would people suggest to test these?
Should I test anything else?

I use the API Salt water master kit. I haven't found any problems with it. I'm going to get a Reef test kit, and i'm looking for suggestions there.

API works fine for testing the cycle,ammonia,nitrite,nitrate.
For calcium,alk and Mag. I would look into Elos or salifert.
API makes for a good back up test for alk and cal.

I've used Hanna test kits for Calcium, Alkalinity and PH
API for Nitrate, Nitrite and Ammonia.

Nitrate, Nitrite- Seachem
Magnesium, Calcium- Elos

I am still thinking about getting the Hanna Calcium checker, I just heard it can be a little tricky so I was waiting to see what others say.
