I recently moved and found my 14 Gal Bio Cube in its box with about a gallon of water in it. When my ex and I split She killed the tank and I lost intrest in it. It sat in the box for over 2 years. After moving I got the itch again for a nano reef. I cleaned it with water and vinager bath and have been water testing it for the last few days. Both ballasts were ruined and I think the lights are bad too. The only light I can get to work are the LEDS. This is an Oceanic branded Bio Cube.
I want to go with a light that I could use if / when I get a bigger tank. I like the cube look. I see some people have and use both lights on here and would like Input on there experience on the lights. I don't want to do an led upgrade in the hood as I want to take it off so I can add equipment/sump to it.
I haven't decided on what to use for sand. I found a place that sells Cariban Sea Hawaiian Black and IndoPacific Black sand. Has anyone used either or both? I want something that focuses on the coral and noth blinded by the sand.
Thanks,
Chris
