Thin skimmate

Hey all. I recently switched the input pump to my skimmer from about 300 gph to 800 gph. The bubbles are much smaller. It is creating about 10 times the amount of waste. The only problem is that it isn't as thick and dark as it was. Is my skimmer working better or worse with this new pump?

The waste is about this color.

It's probably working better with the smaller bubbles, but the bubble level is higher, so you need to raise the collection cup a bit.

What kind of skimmer is it. you need to drop the water level in it or raise the cup as Nate said. This will give you a dryer foam and darker product.

Thanks all. Ya, bubbles are right up near the top, almost where the overflow is.

What is good to put in the sump under the skimmer to raise it up an inch or so?

I don?t think you want to raise the unit but need to lower the water output level in turn lowering the water lever in the skimmer How to do this depends on the type skimmer you have

Plastic bag filled with sand flattened out some, works great and will dampen out any vibration.
