Or something better.
Don't even bring up Finnex or Visitherm.I will never buy those products again.

I have 2-3 Jagers and another couple Aqueon heaters and not had any problems with them; then again I've only been using them for about 5-6 months.

When I was looking most people were suggeting the Jagers.

I've been useing them for years.I have 2 that i bought 5 years ago and still working today.

same hear aqueon (black ones )or jager...

there a little pricey but i really like my jbj TRUE TEMP Digital Heating System - 300watt Titantium

i've always assumed aqueons were crap cuz petco sells them lol

bob, how old was the visitherm that crashed your tank? that really sucks what happened. it's a shame most of us have hundreds or thousands of dollars of livestock at the mercy of such shoddy equipment.

I'm guessing 5 yrs old.
I was using it just for heating mix water until my Finnex Digital decided to become just an over priced thermometer.

i had a visitherm that worked great for ~15 years. maybe i just got lucky. it never failed, just replaced it cuz i figured i was pushing my luck. i ended up going with another visitherm mainly because of the old one and my lfs had them in stock.

i have always heard good things about jagers tho.

I just purchased a 300 watt Jager from an online source.
Got 3 lbs of activated carbon, poly filters and a DI cartridge as well.

Cobalt Aquatics has some new heaters that are supposed to be the greatest heaters ever. I don't know anyone using them, but they are expensive and possibly worth it.

I use the Aqueon Pro heaters. The temeperature dial is spot on. I have mine set between 76-80 and my water is at 78 F. I have two of those.

If you go to amazon or other websites, compare the reviews of the Aqueon to other heaters and you will see the difference. Usually 5 stars Vs 3 stars average.

I dont have any expereience with the Jager.

Also, anything electronic can and will fail at some point, so using a controller for the heaters would be a good idea. I am getting a reef keeper lite.
