Thoughts on live rock layout

Hey guys,

New to saltwater tanks. I have done a few freshwater tanks. I purchased a 20 gallon IM AIO tank. Any thoughts on how this live rock set up will be in the long run? I would like to do a pair of clown fish and some coral. It is 18 pounds of live rock

Welcome to the saltwater side! I think 18 bounds of dry rock would be fine. It looks like how I set up my first tank. Good luck on your journey

I believe that as long as you have flow around the back of your rocks; you own personal preference wins. Just think about the coral you want in the future and take its light/flow into consideration.

One of my mistakes was piling rocks to high. Corals need room to grow. I would stay halfway up or less on height of tank. But on the other hand it’s all about your glass of water. If you like it, go with it. GL!
