So i bought a pistol shrimp paired up with a yellow goby but as soon as i put it in my tank they are never together ... how do i pair them up?

how long ago did you get them?

Give them time. They will find each other. Cool little critters.

+1 for giving them time.

Mine took about a week and I only have a 6 gallon tank! Now, they are never apart.

Yeah give them time I got a yellow and a grey watchman goby paired with a pistol shrimp in my 125g added them all at different times, and now they're always together tunneling under the sand and rocks. very cool to watch.

They're really fun to watch. The shrimp never stops digging. He lives under a rock and everyday makes a new tunnel entrance and closes the old one. You think he'd get tired of digging.

^^^as was posted, they are truly fascinating to watch together. if you give the shrimp some small shells, it will actually use them to "board up" the entrance to their burrow and to hold the sand back.

+1 on giving it time, i had my yellow goby for a couple of weeks before i added a pistol shrimp. It took about a week and like the others, they are never apart now. Just keep an eye on the live rock, i had a few pieces that weren't deeply set on the sand, needless to say after a couple of days of him making tunnels, there was a huge shift on my scape.

A very interesting thing mine did was cut about 3 or 4 polyps off my yellow eye green polyps colony and set them on one of his openings, they attached to the rock right above his tunnel entrance. Now he has a nice decorated entrance..... Pretty cool!
