Hi
I recently purchased a toadstool from underwater world since in my tank he has not poliped and the base has like brown algee on it? He doesn't seem happy I have moved him once it has been over a month now his size really has not changed just hoping anyone has a answer, all water peramiters are in spec with my test kits also had LFS check I do run gfo wondering if that maybe hurt him when I did a change maybe some dust got in tank ??? Any ideas
Thanks

It's very common for toadstools to stress out and take a while to adjust to a tank move. Most likely, pretty soon you will see it start to look "waxy" on the surface, and then in a day or three it will shed off a layer of surface tissue/skin, then the next day it will look better than ever with good polyp extension starting to show.

Just let it be and give it time to settle in, this is very normal.

+1 ^

Toadstools are prone to pouting from time to time, but after always come back better than before. Also, they shed their skin from time to time to get rid of algae growth etc on their skin.

They can def be finicky. Mine will stop with polyp extension for a week or two then come back. Here is an example this morning from my tank. One is all happy the tyree has decided not to ImageUploadedByTapatalk1388590001.451713.jpg
Sorry for the crappy pic. Light just came on.

That sounds just like my Tyree, I've had other toadstools but the Tyree is absolutely the worst, it's over there pouting now because I did a little maintenance on the tank. When I first got it it was well over a month before it showed any polyps and then only a few short ones.
