Too Much Chaeto?

I possibly have to much Chaeto.... some of it is protruding from the water... is that bad? Should I be trimming it down? Last time I pushed down on it the tank filled up with white stringy things.

Need some imput on this if anyone can.

The more you trim it down, the faster it will grow. The faster it grows, the more nutrient removal it performs. It uses nutrients (nitrates, phosphates) to grow.

At least your chaeto grows, Since I switched to bb mine has stopped growing. Yet other algae does.

Mike remember I told you at your house to trrim it. Exactly what Daire stated is why. Much more efficient if you keep it trimmed and it will even grow faster ime.

I'll be trimming this week..... You saw how much I had... Should I cut half that out?
