trying to help very beat tang

OMG that poor thing , is that real ? If it is get some Melafix QT him and treat him with that stuff asap .

Oh my. I would feed him lots of nori......High quality food soaked in selcon and a vitamin (zoe for example). Get mysis shrimp or one of the mixed packages (rods or larrys reef frenzy).

and try to keep the stress down on him.

kudos to you for trying to save him.

Ok thanks unfortunitly I dont have a qt tank and I do have some corals starting in my tank is all this ok to put with them never used melafix. On a better note he had no color anywhere when I got him and after feeding just bloodworms to c if he would eat he ate them and colored what little he could. I feel so bad for him

Wow, that's awful. I would just keep feeding him until he gets some strength and scales back.

The good news is he doesn't look like he has an infection (yet). I would watch him closely and try to focus on his nutrition. Nori and soaked mysis (fats and vitamins) will go a long way for this little guy. I'm in west roxbury and have stuff if you wanted to pick some up.

I work near springfield so im going to go to school of fish and see if I can get what everyone is suggesting. Thanks for the offer though!!

Poor thing, it is amazing that it is still alive.
If it is eating, there is a chance he will live.
I rescued a yellow tang with most of its fins torn out. it is still alive and kicking in one of my frag tank for three years now, but its fins never regenerated.

Yeah, I would definitely just feed it soaked nori and hope for the best. IIRC, bloodworms do not have much nutritional value so that would not benefit the fish.

Good luck with the fish.

How big is the fish?

Oh wow that is terrible. If there's anything you need, let me know. I place orders often for dry goods, and if there's something in particular you need I can ship it out to you.

The fish is about 4-4 1/2 inches its a decent size. Also im only feeding mysis and the Dr. G medicated food for now it will help everyone in the tank and help him come back i hope.

Wow.That's 1 strong fish you have there. Keep us posted on his recovery
Good Luck
