was very active now sitting on bottom for two days but he is still alive will poke out once in awile is this normal all other fish and critters ok perameters normal do they do this or is he dying

Mine did the same thing and eventually ended up dead a few days later. I was told that they will sit for a while on occasion if they eat too much.

Mine will sometimes sit for a couple days then go back on a feeding fringe...

don't turbo snails prefer cooler temp tanks? i thought that was why they don't last more than a handful of months in our tanks. has anyone else heard that?

Mine spends most of the time towards the top of the tank..... I would assume it's warmer there.... my Turbos have been with me from the beginning..... 90% that is :D

What is your calcium and Alk at?
They will die if they don't have calcium over 400 ppm, can't make new shell.
Also,I believe it's margarita snails that need cooler water.

he peeks out once in awhile so he is still alive just not moving
its been four days

its now been almost TWO WEEKS now snail sits in same spot does not move if you pick him up he peeks out then shuts up tight put him back in the tank then will open a half inch but not move i dont know what to do any suggestions

i second what stingything said. what are the alk and calcium parameters? I had the same problem and discovered both measurements were way down. IME, i've noticed that as the alk drops my snails antennea are not fully extended and they move much more slowly.

keep us posted with what you find.

check your nitrates...

This is what I have been led to believe. I run my tank in the 77-78 or so degrees and they seem to be lasting longer than when I was in the 79-80 range.
