u tubes clean? CHECK!

for anyone still using overflow boxes I found a new way to clean those bad boys!!!!

Takes a few minutes and little hands but it works better than any tube or baby bottle brush I've ever tried!!!!

Whats my secret you ask???

MARBLES! thow a handful of marbles up that tube a few times and WHALA those things knock out all the gunk & coraline algea.

I was shocked at how clean that thing came, its a clear tube again with just a few patches of coraline left, those brushes never got the coraline off for me.

I was thinking the same thing. Did you get it from a website or did you just randomly decide to put marbles in a tube and watch them roll? lol

Yup easy peasy! just stuff shake & drain. You can even do it with the syphon still going if your hands are small enough, not quite as good as shaking it but still gets the job done.

what? a girl cant come up with a great idea? lol
short story, roomate re-arranged kitchen, could not find brush. Saw her marbles sitting there...

Thats a great tip. I also recommend anyone with a u-tube over flow to have at least one spare tube laying around if not 2. They seem to break easily. And when you check it late night and see that suspicious flood causing algae clump its nice to be able to swap out and clean it later....

Gotta keep them clean so you don't flood....

I hate to jinx myself but I've been using the same overflow box and U-tube(Amiracle) since I set up the tank. Probably 3 years ago.
