Unfamiliar to me

I have a 150 gallon reef tank with several fish. I recently noticed some black spots along the dorsal fin of my red fin wrasse and he is no where to be found. Fast forward a couple of weeks and the same spots have appeared on my swallowtail angel. Any ideas?

Spots or scale loss? From my phone it looks more like scale loss then spot forming. Scale loss is usually environmental or dietary related, or physical abrasions via rubbing on rock/sand. Those would be my initial 3 criterias to breakdown.

I agree with cryptic. Looks like missing scales. I am not sure on the cause other than rubbing on rocks/damage. Are they raised/fuzzy like they are getting infected? Major pH swings?
