Used or new community help

I was offered a
Ecotech Radion XR30W (PRO) Gen 4 LED Light used for $600 it’s two years old used one year, is what I’m told. Was wondering what led life span is? Or should I just go new.

They say 50,000 hours... but realistically less.

I could see those lights making it 5 years. But it would depend on the discount for me used vs new and if that is the light you are set on.

Ex. New skimmer costs 300. Used one goes for 100. I will take the 100.

New for 300 used for 250 I will buy the new one.

They say with the new cree leds that their rated for 50,000 hours and then 75% after 50,000 hours I think I read somewhere. I personally wouldn’t be afraid to buy that light if that’s including a mount along with it.

No mount. It would save me about $250 seeing I’m starting a new build and have nothing.

The led life span is so long the fans and or other parts will not last as long. Plenty of gen threes from 15-16 still going. 600 is a bit close to new imo. Warranty is worth that to me. Plus Tec support is useless for used costomer
