Watch your TANK TEMP tomorrow!

Basement is still under 67, tank is solid at around 79
I'm running a new electric circuit for a 14.5k A/C for the front room
I ran a 12k last year & more is better

2nd floor is vented now, so it should stay cooler this summer
Hopefully we will be moving upstairs this summer

81.9 for me today........wish my wife let me run the sump in my basement.

Matt, I'd take your cover glass off. You shouldn't get much salt on your bulbs unless you have splashing on the surface of your tank. Turbulence is fine, but if you have a HOB filter that waterfalls into the tank, will probably cause some salt crust. Bulb height also matters obviously.

I never used covers, and I would just wipe off my cool bulbs and reflector with a RODI-moistened paper towel once a month or so.

It's a killer this time every year. I'm glad that we haven't seen a couple threads this evening that say "Oh, CRAP! My corals are all dead and my fish are drinking cold ones!" Every year there seem to be a few sad threads like that.

I put a glass cover over 1/2 of my 75g in the basement to cut down on humidity. I'll probably do the same once the 125g gets moved down there

We have a basement apartment which stays fairly cool in the summer anyway but I think it's time to get the AC ready this weekend. Thanks for the reminder.

79.9 now and heater is on.
I think putting the fan on a timer and set it one hour after the halide turns on and off seem to work for me, in the spring at least.
Summer, AC time.

I should say that our apartment USED TO stay fairly cool in the spring and summer, now with a 240? Cool.... I think not.

Tank just hit 82 and the aqua controller worked like a charm -- killed all lights and kept the hood fans running. Have central AC but figure why fire up if I don't have to. Thermostat in the house says that it is 79 but it feels a lot cooler.

Thanks Nate, Went home for lunch and took 1/2 of the glass off the top. I guess I'm just a victim of older literature(and some present) that swears by the use of cover glass. I have no alternative, but this is really going to push up my evaporation rate.

Another warm day...my basement temp always increases 1 day after a warm day. As the ground warms up, warms the basement walls, then the basement.
Basement is up to 71 today, tank went up to 82.5
Plus the house went up to 74 today. We had the windows open earlier, then went out & shut them
