Water Changes?

I was wondering about water changes. If I am correct a 10% per week change is a good reference point. Well I have a 90gal. Tank that has about a 1 to 1.5 gallon per day evaporate rate. If I am adding RO water at this rate everyday equaling 10% of the overall volume per week how critical is water changes for my situation?
I could see where this scenario would change if the tank where bigger. The evaporation rate would not equate to 10% of the overall volume. Does it at least have a little weight to support this question?

Water changes are a means to remove waste from the tank and replace trace elements found in your salt mix or NSW.

Just topping off the tank for evap does neither.

With no water changes, toxins can build up, and trace elements and other good things are not getting replenished.

That's the theory anyway...

i do 20-25% per week. i have found that it keeps the tank happy and healthy. what they have said above is correct.
