Weather heating question

I have a 30 cube with a sump. The flow through the sump is 175gph and I have a 150 watt Visi-Therm Stealth heater set at 78. The main tank does not seem to be getting the heat. The tank temp is around 73. The tank is beside a drafty aluminum door and it's been windy out. I have moved the heater to the main tank this morning which also has a Koralia prop pumpfor movement. I am moving soon and will be upgrading the return pump to something about 300gph. I'll be leaving the heater in the main tank for now. All comments and suggestions appreciated.

Tanks in front of windows and doors are always difficult to maintain constant heating and cooling espec in smaller tanks. If the heater is working properly, you might want to add a second heater (maybe a 200w in the sump?) to help...can't hurt.

I'm running 2 heaters, 1 each in the sump/display. Very happy with the results. Always a steady temp and if one ever fails.....

wow, Bob, that's gotta be one nasty draft.

I know you said the heater is set at 78 degrees, but is the heater accurate? Does it stay on all the time? Is the sump 73 as well? I would try bumping up the heater setting and see if that increases the temp in the main tank. Otherwise, I would do like wrassfan said, and get another heater to supplement the one you have now.
